"The Camp of the Saints" - mass immigration
Thirty-three years ago, in 1973, the French novelist Jean Raspail published "The Camp of the Saints." An English language edition appeared in 1975. I read it four years later after I had immigrated to the USA. I've been thinking about this book a lot lately not only because of Europe's Muslim immigrant problem but because of the invasion of the USA by illegal immigrants from Mexico.
I can remember that, when I first read it, I realized that mass immigration was going to cause horrendous problems for western civilzation soon.
Raspail’s story is about the arrival on the fashionable Mediterranean coast of France of a fleet of 100 ships carrying 800,000 Indians. By the time the fleet arrives, the French government, which has tracked the voyage hour by hour, has collapsed in a paroxysm of white guilt. The Indians come ashore unopposed. Others follow. France disappears and, also, all of Europe.
It is a very depressing book. George Orwell's "1984" was also a very depressing book but both books were prophetic - not merely warnings of what "might" happen but pretty accurate (if somewhat melodramatic, hyperbolical and satirical) glimpses into the future.
Of course Hollywood did not make a movie of it as it was such an unrelenting indictment of liberal white guilt and very honestly racist - maybe not racist but culturalist. It made no pretense at multi-culturalism but portrayed the invading "immigrants" as backwards and culturally inferior.
Here is an excerpt from the excellent review of the book by Samuel Jared Taylor:
A haunting novel about the end of the White race.
Fiction can be more powerful than fact. Authors have always lent their talents to causes, often swaying events more effectively than journalists or politicians. Fiction, including virtually everything emitted by Hollywood, has usually been in the service of the left, but occasionally an author declares his allegiance to culture and tradition.
In "The Camp of the Saints", Jean Raspail goes further and declares his allegiance to his race — though it is an allegiance tinged with bitterness at the weakness of the White man. It is the story of the final, tragic end of European civilization which falls, like all great civilizations, by its own hand.
The novel is set in the near future in France, where the leftist sicknesses of multi-culturalism and multi-racialism have undermined all natural defenses. As Mr. Raspail writes of young Europeans:
"That scorn of a people of other races, the knowledge that one's own is best, the triumphant joy at feeling oneself to be part of humanity's finest -none of that had ever filled these youngsters' addled brains, or at least so little that the monstrous cancer implanted in the Western conscience had quashed it in no time at all."

Our problem is almost worse than Europe's. It is easier for illegal immigrants to invade the USA - they just have to walk across an invisible line in the sand but people have to cross oceans to reach Europe. It's time for us to stop the invasion of illegal aliens and to reduce legal immigration not increase it as our elitist politicians want to do. We are already saddled with enough native-born barbarians without importing foreign ones.
Legal immigration also has an unforeseen consequence known as "chain migration." I've seen it happen in San Francisco. A Chinese "businessman" (often no better than a pimp with enough money to start a whore-house of smuggled slaves) arrives from Hong Kong; next he brings his wife and kids - okay fine - but then he brings his parents who can in turn bring their adult children; and on it goes till you have one "businessman" and 30 Chinese peasants living in the house next door all coughing and spitting their TB-laden phlegm on the side-walk.
I've mentioned before that I once considered migrating to Australia or New Zealand. I went so far as to check out their requirements for immigration. You have to have a degreed profession and a position lined up or enough money and a plan to start a business with a minimum capitalization of $50,000 and enough money to live on for three years or until your business succeeds. Those are the kinds of immigration rules that we need. We don't need anymore unskilled labor. We have plenty already - they live on welfare. It's time to put the welfare bums to work doing the jobs Mexicans do; that Americans supposedly won't do - well, of course they won't do hard work if we pay them to sit on their bums all day watching TV.
There is a well-known syndrome among successful legal immigrants - they want to close the door behind them. I've been accused of having that disease many a time but I don't think of it as a disease; it's common sense born of an insight that non-immigrant Americans don't have. I was born and raised in a Third World country and can see that, if we continue with mass immigration, the USA will soon be a banana republic. California, where I lived for 25 years, already is one.

And here is one of the articles on that website, an essay by Diana Hull, "Mass Immigration: Illegal vs. Legal Entry
and Chain Migration:"
Mass immigration makes U.S, cities and their surrounding areas unacceptably crowded, canceling the deliberate decision of U.S. citizens to limit their numbers by having fewer children. A nation’s people have a right to choose the size of their national family, but allowing three million or more immigrants to settle here every year removes the majority of Americans from the decision-making loop.
From 2000 to 2005, 86% of U.S. population growth was the result of immigration and births to immigrants and there will be about 500 million people in the United States by mid-century. Without securing the border and limiting legal immigration to about 200,000 a year, we are on a path to a billion Americans by 2100.
Illegal immigrants are self-selected. We don’t know their true identity, whether they are able bodied or sick, schooled in any language or skill, or have a history of crime or violence. Yet once in the interior of the country, they are rarely apprehended and often remain in the U.S. for a lifetime. Their presence lures others from their family and community, so every illegal alien establishes a base camp for others. Yet almost every major city in the U. S. accommodates their presence and police rarely ascertain their immigration status. Between 12 and 20 million illegal aliens live among us.
Legal immigrants add another one million people every year. There are many routes to legal residency. Most applicants gain entry under the family reunification provisions of the immigration law. This is known as "chain migration."
Chain migration allows relatives to immigrate, not only a spouse, minor children, and parents, but also siblings and adult children who can bring in their spouses who can sponsor their siblings, parents, and relatives, ad infinitum.
Together chain immigration and illegal entry have essentially replaced the right of the majority citizen-stakeholders to set national immigration levels. But even more serious is the ratcheting up of our numbers. This propels the exponential population growth curve with steep and dangerous momentum. Inevitably, the nation will become even more seriously over-populated, natural resources will dwindle, and the quality of life will erode.
The size, composition, and distribution of the United States population is a national issue of the highest urgency. Our citizens must act, or our country and environment will pay a terrible price.
This is the picture on the front page of that website - I will be keeping this pic. The following two pictures are maps of "Eurabia" and "Aztlan," the new colony envisioned by the Mexican "Reconquistas." If you click to enlarge the last pic you will see that it also shows the percentages of Mexican immigrants for each county. My county has less than 6% (actually 1.8%) and I will work to keep it that way.
