Pigs and fishes

Obama on Palin:

You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig.

Of course he meant pitbull.

And on McCain:

You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink.

In the 10,000 year old I Ching, (The Book of Change) pigs and fishes are mentioned once in the hexagram "Inner Truth":

Pigs and fishes are the most difficult creatures to influence. The force of inner truth must grow great before its influence can extend to them. In dealing with persons as intractable and as difficult to influence as a pig or a fish, the whole secret of success depends on finding the right way of approach. One must first rid oneself of all prejudice and, so to speak, let the psyche of the other person act on one without restraint. Then one will establish contact with him, understand and gain power over him. When a door has thus been opened, the force of one’s character will influence him.

Problem is Obama has no "force of character" and wouldn't know "inner truth" if it slapped him in the face like a wet fish or a pig's curly tail.
